Gastronomy, Phytotherapy and Health

On December 9, 2025, a conference titled "Gastronomy, Phytotherapy, and Health" was held at our Faculty by the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. The conference, attended by academic staff and students, featured Dietitian Havva Çil as a speaker.

The conference covered the effects of functional foods on human health, the place of herbal ingredients in nutritional programs and sustainable nutrition models, the effects of spices and aromatic herbs on health, and scientific information on the correct use of these components.

The conference also addressed current developments in phytotherapy applications and the role of natural ingredients in gastronomy. Participants gained up-to-date perspectives on the importance of the relationship between gastronomy and health.

The conference concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the speaker by the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Eren.
